Tidewater Tutors Tutoring Service Agreement

Parents agree to pay a one time enrollment fee that will cover matching tutors with students, email appointment reminders, and lesson progress reports within 24 hours of each session. Parents who take a break and later resume services will not have to pay a re enrollment fee if they return within 3 months of their last session.

Fee Agreement:

The hourly rate for tutoring services is $ . Your monthly tutoring fee is . Tidewater Tutors are not able to stay longer than sixty minutes unless previously arranged. The parent with the child hereby agrees to pay Tidewater Tutors fee in advance before the tutoring session begins. For advance payment you will receive a Paypal invoice due upon receipt before tutoring begins, plus the 6% tax fee before the session starts. Tutoring has to be paid in full by the 30th of each month. Payments that are received late will be assessed a $10 a day late fee. If your payment and late fees are not paid your TUTOR WILL NOT ARRIVE TO YOUR SESSION. PARENTS UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL BE GIVEN CREDIT FOR ANY SESSIONS THEY CHOOSE TO MISS. ALL SESSIONS MUST BE PAID FOR REGARDLESS OF YOUR ATTENDANCE. CREDIT WILL ONLY BE GIVEN ON THE NEXT MONTH'S INVOICE IF THE TUTOR HAS TO MISS THE SESSION.

If you need to cancel your tutoring session you may cancel up to 24 hours without any penalty, cancellation must be sent via email or text message.

The tutoring schedule should be made on a regular weekly schedule, that will be followed for the month, unless otherwise discussed in writing via email or text.

By signing this agreement you agree to use Tidewater Tutors services for at least one month. If you decided to cancel tutoring before the month trial period NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN. ONCE THE MONTH IS OVER YOU MUST SEND WRITTEN NOTICE VIA EMAIL 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO CANCELING TUTORING SERVICES.

Tutoring sessions that are cancelled by the tutor, and can not be made up during the month will be issued a credit reflected on the following month’s invoice. Tutoring sessions that are cancelled by the student will need to be made up within the month, providing the tutor is able to accommodate the make up request. There will be NO CREDIT OR REFUND for sessions cancelled by the student, and we cannot guarantee your tutor will be able to reschedule your cancelled appointment. We will try our best to reschedule but Tidewater Tutors makes no guarantees on rescheduling.

This tutoring agreement may be terminated at any time by either party, within the cancellation policy guidelines as stated above.

CANCELLATION OF LESSONS BY TUTOR

The Tutor may cancel lessons by giving 24 hours prior notice to the Student in which case, the tutor will make up the session at a later day or time within the month. That may include adding minutes/ hours to the next session until the missed session is covered. The Tutor shall reschedule the appointment at a time agreeable to both parties, if for some reason this can't happen the student will be given a credit on the next month’s payment invoice. If a tutor has to miss a session every effort will be made to secure a Substitute tutor in their place, if and only if a sub can not be placed will you receive a credit for tutoring. Subs will not be secured based on Gender preference only by content area. If for any reason you refuse a sub you will not be given CREDIT, and refusal must be in written notice via email. Also all sessions can be made up via ONLINE sessions.

LATE ARRIVAL

Fees are calculated according to the times stipulated in the schedule and no adjustment shall be made for time lost because of late arrival by the Student, if for any reason you will be late you must call Tidewater Tutors at 757-342-0332, and send an email or text for late arrival. A tutor will not wait longer than 15 minutes for you to arrive, after 15 minutes late without prior notice the tutor will leave. Any lost time because of the late arrival of the Tutor shall be compensated for by extending a lesson by mutual agreement and by such amount of time that was lost.

OBLIGATIONS OF THE TUTOR

  • The Tutor undertakes to do all preparation prior to lessons and to structure lessons in such a way as to optimize time to the benefit of the Student.
  • The Tutor shall keep confidential all information of the Student and shall contact other parties involved in the education of the Student only if given written permission by the Student to do so.
  • The Tutor shall not assign any of his/her duties or obligations under this tutoring contract to a third party without the written permission of the Student.
  • The Tutor shall at no time be required or obliged to execute homework or assignments on behalf of the Student.

OBLIGATIONS OF THE STUDENT

  • The Student undertakes to assist the Tutor in identifying problem areas in which the Student needs specific tutoring.
  • The Student agrees that assignments, exercises or homework form an integral part of tutoring and undertakes to complete such work timeously, of any tutoring provided.

OBLIGATION OF THE PARENT

Parent agrees to pay all fees in the time specified in this agreement. Parent agrees to communicate via email or text missed or cancelled appointments. Parent agrees to utilize the WWW.TUTORPANEL.COM calendar reminder appointment system to update, cancel or reschedule appointments, and to check student progress reports. You will receive a username once your student is registered and receiving tutoring. Parent understands NOT paying for services will result in Legal proceedings to collect any unpaid fees, in which they will occur the lawyer fees and late day collections.

NO WARRANTIES

The Tidewater Tutors makes no promises or warranties with regards to a Student's performance as a result of tutoring.

WHOLE AGREEMENT

This agreement constitutes the entire understanding between the parties with regard to the subject matter thereof and the parties waive the right to rely on any alleged expressed or implied provision not contained herein. Any alteration to this agreement must be in writing and signed by both parties.

MINORS

Where the Student is a legal minor, the Parent/Guardian shall enter into this tutoring agreement on behalf of the Student and shall accept and agree to all the terms and conditions contained herein on behalf of the Student.
